The Port of Whitman County is hosting the Snake River Family Festival June 14 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Boyer Park & Marina. It’s free to attend, and there will be free food, live music, and fun and educational activities.
The event will showcase the multi-use Columbia/Snake River system by having area experts there to highlight their roles in the river system that is crucial to the economy of the region. Current exhibitors include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tidewater Barge Lines, McGregor Company, and others. Families will have the opportunity to explore Boyer Park and Marina, test boat-building skills, see river transportation in action, or dig in the wheat box.

Today, Saint John third graders joined the PNW National Laboratory in a live Salmon Summit on the Columbia River! They observed while Chinook Salmon were tagged, and asked these scientists a variety of questions!
Their favorite question they asked was: What happens to predators that consume these tagged salmon?
Answer: Now we get to collect extra data on predator patterns!
